DIY Valentine's Day Treats ( 2 Ways!)

DIY Valentine’s Day Treats ( 2 Ways!)

A few years ago, I have tried my hand at doing some baking and these treats came out SO good, y’all!! My husband reminded me of them recently and I realize I never shared them on the blog! If you follow me on YouTube, you may have already seen this, but in case you haven’t - here it is: two ways to make Valentine’s Day extra special whether you’re celebrating or having a Galentine’s Day (which I want to do one day btw!!), you’ll be sure to love them. These desserts are also very versatile because they can also be incorporated into baby showers, bridal showers, etc.!

Treat #1 Ingredients/Tools:

White Cake Box & additional ingredients listed

Strawberries

8 oz. Cream Cheese

1/4 cup Powdered Sugar, sifted

1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract

Food Coloring (optional)

Sandwich or Piping Bag (optional)

Whipped Cream (optional)

Hand Mixer

Knife

Treat #2 Ingredients/Tools:

Graham Crackers

Strawberries

8 oz. Cream Cheese

1/4 cup Powdered Sugar, sifted

1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract

Coffee Grinder or Ziploc and Heavy Item

Knife

First Treat Instructions:

In the video, I said I found these recipes on Pinterest, but since it’s been SO long, I do not know the link to the original blog post I found these on. If you know, please comment below! I want to credit who originally thought of this!!

To begin, I baked the boxed white cake according to the instructions on the package. After the cake had some time to cool, I cut the cake into slices, then into cubes and set aside.

Next, I washed, dried, and cut some strawberries and set those aside as well.

After cutting the strawberries, I made the cream cheese frosting by combining room temperature cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract and mixing until combined with my hand mixer.

Once all the individual ingredients were done, I poured my cream cheese frosting into a sandwich bag then started layering all of the ingredients in a glass or mason jar. I added the cake, strawberries, frosting, and kept repeating until I reached the top. Once you’re ready to serve, I would suggest adding some whipped cream and strawberries to top it off. I definitely suggest waiting until serving time to add the cream since it will melt relatively quickly!

Second Treat Instructions:

This Treat is not only delicious, but it will take you less than 5 minutes to make!

I started by grinding my graham crackers in my coffee grinder (you can also place them in a ziplock bag and bang it until they’re powdered). I set the mixture aside then cut the bottom of the strawberry just a little so it’s able to stand upright.

Next, cut into the strawberry to create a shallow hole at the top. Fill up the hole with the cream cheese mixture made for treat #1, and sprinkle some graham crackers on top! That. Is. It! You’re DONE! Super easy, right??? And delicious. Don’t forget delicious!!

I hope you enjoyed this throwback tutorial. I’m so glad Donald reminded me of this. Now, I’m going to definitely make this SOON! Maybe for our birthdays this week! Haha.
